What is Rendering?
Render is the plaster finish on the exterior of a house. The purpose of rendering the exterior walls is to give the home a smooth effect and to protect the brick from the elements. There are different types of render that can be used on your home, to suit your requirements - just speak to a member of our team to discuss the best option for you.
Types of Render
Cement render is the more traditional style of render. This is the most basic option, and is typically mixed on site, before several coats are applied to the wall. Although this is a cheaper option, it will need to be painted quite regularly to keep it looking fresh.
Polymer-modified render is another cement-based option. This is typically pre-mixed, and usually pre-coloured. This type of render is designed to prevent cracking and can help the cement to adhere better.
Lime render can be a better option than cement, as it is less likely to allow moisture to soak in to the brickwork. This type of rendering can also be more visually appealing, however it is a more expensive option compared to cement, and can be more difficult to apply.
Plastic render is a type of rendering that is more suitable for use on interior walls, as this is a softer type of render and takes longer to dry.
